Fangirl – Rainbow Rowell

Fangirl was the first book I read by author Rainbow Rowell (I’ve read 3 others since) and it hooked me so much that I started reading at 10pm then finished at 3am! I’ve honestly never connected to a character as much as Cath before and I am definitely in love with Levi (yet another fictional male character I’ve fallen for to add to my list). I also have a friend who is very similar to Regan as she puts me in situations I’m certainly not comfortable with to “help” me with my anxiety!

This book explores many themes including friendships, changing relationships, and mental disorders such as bi-polar and social anxiety. The story deals with finding a balance and dealing with new situations without changing yourself in the process. Fangirl includes a little bit of everything, from humour to romance and even a bit of fantasy from Cath’s fan-fiction. It’s such a relatable story for anyone who is/has been in a fandom, and I feel that Rainbow Rowell captured it perfectly.

I must admit, even though it is crucial to the book, I wasn’t a massive fan of the fanfiction sections, and when re-reading the novel for a second time, I skipped over each part.

I think that this book is a must read for teens/YA and I’m giving it:IMG_3886.JPG
Thank you for reading this post!
